Broccoli sprouts are a hormone-balancing superfood.This tonic is a wonderful way to use a simple healing food to help reverse estrogen dominance.

Sprouts of cruciferous seeds have a highly estrogen-balancing quality. Aim for 2-3 tbsp per day. Lemon juice is very alkalizing for the body. And salt is great for rehydrating.

Serves: ½ cup

Ingredients

  • ½ cup broccoli sprouts
  • ½ cup filtered water
  • Pinch sea salt
  • Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tablespoons)

How To Make

  1. Place everything in a high-speed blender and mix until bright green and all the sprouts are combined. Serve immediately.

Notes

Storage: Best enjoyed fresh, but any leftovers should be stored in the fridge for a day at most.

    • You can certainly try it. It may taste a little different, as the sprouts are more mild flavored. Of course if you are growing your own microgreens you will have to remove any leftover soil. Enjoy!

  3. Magdalena does not recommend a particular brand or variety, other than “organic broccoli sprouting seeds”. If you search online you will see lots of great options.

  12. I tried the heating method with broccoli sprouts, and wanting to get maximum benefits, drank the water as a plain tea. This is good for you, yes?

    I was surprised at how bitter the sprouts became once cooked. I suppose that’s the sulforophane at work?
