FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton is heading to the Stanford Regional hosted by the No. 8 National Seed, Stanford, to make their 32nd NCAA Regional appearance. The three-seed Titans will start their NCAA tournament journey as the visiting team against two-seed Mississippi State at 4:30 p.m. PT on Friday. The tournament will take place at the Boyd & Jill Smith Family Stadium and will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Titans and Bulldogs faced off earlier this season at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, where the Titans fell to the then-ranked (No. 20) Bulldogs, 4-2.

The Titans are coming to the Stanford Regional with a 36-17 overall record and received an automatic bid to the tournament after being named the 2024 Big West Champions following Saturday's series win over Long Beach State.

The Titans offense is batting .314 as a team and has scored 232 runs this year. Senior outfielder Megan Delgadillo leads the Titans with a .420 batting average, 79 hits, 45 runs scored, 38 stolen bases, five triples and 99 total bases. Delgadillo set the all-time Big West stolen base record, stealing her 122nd bag against Toledo (March 7). She went 38-for-40 on the base path for a total of 145 career stolen bases. Delgadillo also set the Titans all-time career records, scoring her 151st run against Cal State Bakersfield (March 23) and hits (258) at Hawai'i (May 3).

Senior third baseman Hannah Becerra leads the Titans with 33 walks, 30 RBI, seven home runs and a .529 slugging percentage. Freshman shortstop Sarah Perez garnered two Big West Freshman of the Week honors, leading the Titans in conference play with a .438 batting average. Utility infielder Peyton Toto split her time at shortstop and first base for the Titans, slashing .345/.396/.468 with 48 hits, seven doubles, two triples, two home runs and 22 RBI. Toto leads the team with 337 putouts, a season-best for the senior.

In the circle, the Titan pitching staff currently sports the 22nd-best ERA in the nation at 2.24 under the leadership of pitching coach and Titan alumna Gina Oaks Garcia. Haley Rainey leads the Titans staff with a 17-6 overall record and is 35th in the nation with a 1.63 ERA. Rainey pitched a six-inning perfect game against Pacific (Feb. 10) and a no-hitter against UC Santa Barbara (April 20).

Staci Chambers sits alongside Rainey at the top of the Big West in ERA (2.16) and opposing batting average (.219). Chambers pitched her first no-hitter on Feb. 11 against Colorado State. She pitched a career-best 10 innings in relief against CSUN, leading the Titans to a series win.

Fullerton's first opponent will be USA Softball's No. 17 Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are 33-18 overall and went 12-12 in SEC play. The Bulldogs finished third in the conference and were defeated by South Carolina in the first round of the SEC tournament.

The Bulldogs are led offensively by Sierra Sacco (.348 BA, 52 Runs) and Madisyn Kennedy (56 RBI). As a team, Mississippi State is 39-for-44 in stolen base attempts. The Bulldogs pitching staff is highlighted by Aspen Wesley (14-6, 3.28 ERA, 123 K). Josey Marron (3.51 ERA, 82 K) follows Wesley in pitching.

No. 1 Stanford and No. 4 St. Mary's will play the game before the Titans and the Bulldogs on Friday evening.
