Easter is coming up so soon! Where has this year gone? I swear that it was just Christmas a minute ago. I think I even have ornaments hanging around all over the place. I love all the holidays where I get to go to my grandparents house and stuff my face. My grandmother is the best cook in the world and while my other grandmother is now gone, the memory of her stuffing and of her deviled eggs will live on in my mind. Family is the most important thing you can ever have and I think its great when you can do something to make them happy. Like fun desserts! For example, this delicious Easter Egg Rice Krispie Treat Recipe.
Ingredients
40 marshmallows
4 Tbs. Butter
6 C. Rice Krispies (or off-brand rice cereal)
Egg shaped cookie cutter(check outthis Wilton Easter 4pc Grippy Cutter set)
Wilton Purple Candy Melts
Wilton nonpareils sprinkles
Non-stick spray
Directions
Spray 9×13 pan (I use this awesome Faberware pan with lid) with non-stick spray.
In a large pan melt butter and marshmallows on low heat. Once the mixture is smooth stir in the 6 cups of rice cereal and coat completely.
Pour into 9×13 pan and press down evenly with wax paper (mixture will be sticky) or with the back of a large spoon.
Use the cookie cutters to cut out the Easter Eggs and set aside.
Melt the purple candy melts in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second increments stirring until melted. Let cool 1-2 minutes. Dip the Egg treats into the chocolate one at a time and set aside. Every 1-2 Eggs dipped in chocolate stop and sprinkle with nonpareils before the chocolate sets.
Lay on a pan lined with foil or wax paper to set.
Enjoy!
